We have built ten community makerspaces: four across Jamaica, five in rural Tamil Nadu, and one longer-term space in Gujarat. Each one is a room a student can walk into and actually make something in, rather than a lab they only read about. The bulk of the cost is the printers. Twenty-one of them went into the Jamaica and Tamil Nadu spaces at roughly $400 each, which is about $8,400 on its own. The rest is everything a printer is useless without: filament and starter tool kits for each space, international shipping and customs, and spare nozzles, belts, and build plates so a jam in month three doesn't end the program. This campaign is complete — thank you to everyone who funded it.
